Ali Sermet Gultan was born in Ankara in 1958. After his primary and secondary school education, he graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry of A.I.T.I.A. in 1982. He studied on orthodontics and, became an associate professor in 1992. Ali Gultan continued his academic life as a professor on the area of orthodontics at the same university until 2002.

Since then, he has been working as an orthodontist in the same dentistry clinic called EOT. As well as his academic achievements, Ali Gultan has held active membership and administrative positions in many organizations related to his profession.
